Let me start off by saying that I have searched threads and I only managed to find one instance of my issue and it went unanswered. So like many, I haven't touched my 3ds in forever and go apply a system update. Then I get the failed to apply firm patch and google that. Everyone says update Luma3ds boot.firm so alright go and plug my SD into my pc and my pc starts screaming at me to format the thing. I have tried many different media card readers and even some different pc's... no dice, it's corrupted. Can I come back from this?

I believe I may have an old backup somewhere from when I first followed the 3ds guide back when soundhax was kinda new, not sure though. Do I even need a backup? I've done the hack for quite a few of my friends back then and I know I made backups of everything however some may have gotten mixed up and I'm not entirely sure which belong to who now.

Corrupt 3DS SD Card [post #3]
Wow, don't know how I didn't find that first. Also, I tried using EaseUS which did recover the data but there was no way I was paying 60+ to recover it :rofl2: Ultimately I just ended up formatting it and following the 3ds guide again to get everything up and running again. Thanks for the help though it's very much appreciated!

There are ways to obtain EaseUS and other data recovery software by nonlegit means. :|
