Ready at Dawn Studios joins Facebook as a VR developer for the Oculus studios.
The studio is currently working on Lone Echo II, no announcements have been made for future projects at this time.
Statement from Facebook VP of AR/VR content Mike Verdu:
"Having shipped titles to multiple platforms in the past, Ready at Dawn is a veteran game developer with some serious chops-as well as a VR pioneer.
As part of the Oculus Studios team, Ready At Dawn will continue creating memorable, immersive, and innovative VR content for gamers around the world as an independently-operated studio.
We’re thrilled to welcome them to the family."

Ew VR but I suppose we will never know until people throw a lot of money down the drain chasing the dream.

Founders: Andrea Pessino, Ru Weerasuriya, Didier Malenfant

Years long veterans all of them covering programming, story, art and music between them. Anything at all recent being The Order: 1886 and some God of War sequels on the PSP before then... eh but actually I like devs for mid tier games. The latter being involved with the wii port of Okami, interview https://www.engadget.com/2008-04-08...ready-at-dawns-didier-malenfant-on-okami.html

Don't know what their past efforts will particularly bring to VR but hey.

Their most recent game

Few people there (mostly looked at the big roles) have some reasonable stuff going back years but at the same time not all that much particularly jumped out at me.

Bummer. It always sucks seeing more Oculus exclusives. Usually ReVive works, but it's a pain. And I hate giving any money to facebook. Went with an Odyssey+ and it's way better than I expected.

The oculus games are usually harder to crack than steamVR games, and Facebook corporation is awful in regards to privacy and data mining.

Regarding "ew VR" (lol)
Most VR games aren't that great yet, but I was really impressed with Boneworks and Half-Life Alyx. It's an amazing way to experience video games, and will certainly get better.

Playing Brutal Doom in VR is amazing too. Leaning around corners or firing from cover feels so cool. We can finally be INSIDE DooM and it's fantastic.
