Hacking EZ Flash Jr causing faint, flickering horizontal lines on screen

Not sure why this is happening. It tends to be more noticeable on lighter shades of color, like light grey and cyan. I tested on two systems, a frontlit GBA SP and an original GBA (both unmodded) and the issue is present on both, though much less so on the original. The screens' voltage potentiometers have been calibrated previously so the displays should not be the issue. In fact, I get a perfectly clean image playing the same ROM files via the Goomba Color emulator on my EZ Flash ODE. Is this a normal behavior of the EZ Flash Jr?
