Hacking External HDD and payload

Hello everyone. İ have a PS4 Pro on 9.00.and i use cfw without any problem but i have a question that i can't find any answer. I'll add new external Hard drive to my PS4 and is it ok to leave it plugged in always while upload payload from USB ? İs it any risk to damage external HDD during upload payload ? Thanks already.

it's fine. though, if it kp's, it will scan the external hdd as well and correct any problems.

Thank you for your help, can i ask one last question? How should I setup new HDD ? Through from PS4 menus and format it or format from PC as exfat ? And i heard about one program app2usb. Should i use it or something else ?

best option is extended storage. if your internal hdd dies, you'd have to reinstall everything if using app2usb. with extended storage, just deploy hen, then connect the extended storage. all games will be back then.
