Homebrew compiled with devkitPPC from before SDHC was added is only going to work with SD. What are you running? The system menu doesn't throw DSI exception screens AFAIK.

Click to expand... That sounds like it's just not compatible with libOGC (or maybe it's not MBR/FAT32? HBC and a lot of homebrew doesn't support GPT.)
