Having a weird issue with USBLoaderGX. Sometimes when scrolling through my games, it'll just randomly freeze up. I can't move the cursor around. The menu music will still play which is strange. It doesn't happen often, just once in a while. I can't replicate the issue, it'll just randomly do it. Games work fine though and don't freeze.

I followed the Wii hacks guide. Everything is up to date. I have the latest CIOS versions, and the latest version of USBLOADERGX. I even reinstalled both, but that didn't help.

I'm using a 256gb Samsung Evo Select micro SD card in an SD card adapter. It's formated to MBR FAT32 using guiformat. Everything is on the SD card.

Do you use a 3rd party classic controller? They can cause weird issues in homebrew. Or it could be an issue with your SD card. Other than that, not really sure. Worth testing for corrupted data with Check Disk.

I do use the classic controller sometimes for GameCube. Is that really it? I'll have to test it with just the Wii controller for now on the menu.

The SD card should be fine. I was having the same issue on my old 64gb SanDisk SD card, so I doubt it's that.

To be sure, don't connect the classic controller while you are in homebrew but once you are in game it's safe to connect it. I'm not sure if 3rd party classic controllers work well with Nintendont but they for sure don't work well with USB Loader GX, I've had weird crashes in USB Loader GX caused by 3rd party classic controllers myself.

So I've been trying to see if it's the controller by connecting it when in the menu of USBLoaderGX. The first time I connected it, I scrolled through my list of games for a couple seconds, and then it froze. The second time when I exited a game, and went back USBLoaderGX, and then connected the controller it instantly froze.

So it looks like it's definitely the classic controller causing this. Funnily enough this is a 1st party classic controller.

Are you 100% sure it's 1st party? There are clones that look and feel identical to the official controller.

It should be. I bought it close to 20 years ago at GameStop.

Nevermind it does it even without the controller connected. I guess I can rule that out.
