Hacking Event PKM on B/W show up as ???? for name and OT

I'm adding PKM files to my .sav for Black, specifically event pokemon.

When I open the pokemon on my game the name shows up as ????? and the OT is also ??????

Any idea why? They pass legality... everything is fine in PokeGen.

It's because you don't have Japanese characters installed to your PC, so the Japanese shows up as garbage letters and ?????.

Install the Japanese language pack and they will show up.

Thanks, does this also explain why they show up as ???? in the emulator? As well as on my 3DS?

In PokeGen, they appear fine.

Try using the GTS to distribute them to your game.

Whats the easiest way to deploy them to GTS?

Apparently they show up as ????? Because they are Gen 4 Pokemon, and they need to be converted to Gen 5 Pokemon. Don't know how to do this, if anyone could shed some light?
