I got an Ethernet adapter for my Wii to connect it to the internet, since I can't get WiFi to work. I got a 10/100 USB 2.0 adapter by UGREEN, which specifically has the ASIX AX88772 chip (confirmed device ID of 0B95:7720). It works fine when plugged into my PC, but doesn't work at all when plugged into my Wii on either USB port. The link lights on the adapter don't come on and an adapter MAC address isn't shown in the system settings. Wii USB ports do work as they can recognise a keyboard or storage drive. I'm pretty stumped, since everything I've seen indicates that this should work. Any advice or ideas would be much appreciated.

I bought this same adapter in 2023 and it worked perfectly. This month I bought another one, but it didn't work. The same thing you reported happened. That's really sad. Maybe I should just buy a generic one
