Hardware Ethernet adapter not being recognized

I bought an etherneE adapter for my switch not to long ago, but when I go to try to use it, my switch won't recognize it. I tried using it on other devices, and it worked, so I know it's not the adapter. What can I do about this?

Hi i think it's normal because if your adapter is unofficial it doesn't work . Bought a official adapter .

I use a 3rd party adapter got it from amazon. Some work some dont read reviews thats the best way or go OEM.

My surface pro adapter did not work..ended up just grabbing the official one
