Hacking [Essentials] CIA Files

So since I am a semi avid reader of gbatemp, and have apparently missed something fairly huge, I guess I'm mock-making this post because I'd hope some kind soul would explain what the CIA files are, what their real significance is (other than a supposed CFW apparently), and finally what affect they have on the 3ds scene(pirated games for everyone, custom homebrew that hasn't been developed but we should be excited about it, or some sort of weird mixture of the 2)

Btw if the title post gets in someone's way or whatever let me know, i'll change the title or whatever I just figured this would garner some attention to my question :)
 
You should be asking this kind of questions in "3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here" thread, not in a new thread.
CIA files are like EXE files for windows, it installs packages into your 3DS, such as games, DLC and some tools.

cmon guys we could just post what .cia file we like and share the knowledge ... I really like the playcoinsetter, savedatafiler .. I havent used any other cia yet
