Hello.

I get an error code randomly when playing. But I'm not sure if it's a specific game or not.
See attachment.

Official cartridge Yoshi's Woolly World.

What is the error and how do I solve it? Haven't tested other games yet, but hope it isn't my 3DS failing.

Well, if you get an error code when playing different games, wouldn't that suggest it's not a specific game..? Especially if different games produce different error codes?

If you consult https://3ds.hacks.guide/troubleshooting-post-install.html , it will direct you to https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_exception_screen and thence https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_ErrDisp ... which does not have an entry for 0xc9604523 . But some of the error codes about faulty SD cards are pretty close, and the SD card is the most likely component to fail anyway. It might still be your SD card even if you're playing a cartridge-based game since updates to cartridge-based games are stored on the SD card.

So, standard procedure: Copy everything off your SD card (Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier is recommended since there's a possibility of corruption), format the card, test the empty card with h2testw, and copy everything back again. See if that fixes it. If the test fails or if you can't format the card, then you should get a new card (and copy everything to the new card after formatting and testing it).
