Everyone, just use this for now. You will be able to play online again. Super easy to install and use. Put the files in the 3ds folder like any other homebrew. Then, make sure your internet is enabled and run it from your EmuNAND HBL (or normal if using a9lh updated sysNAND mode). It will return you to the HBL after it runs. Then press start on the HBL and choose exit to return to your EmuNAND home menu, and that's it! You are now ready to play games online! It will work until you power down your 3DS.

We've already solved this, you just need to update Luma to the latest nightly to patch the friendsModule to allow online play without any strings attached

Or maybe some people don't wanna fuck with nightlies due to instability? You know.... like the people in this thread saying exactly that?

I'm saying that if you don't want to use the HBL anytime you wanna play a game online, the nightly is better. Also in my experience the nightly is overall pretty stable. Haven't experienced any errors yet.

Then CLEARLY my message isn't intended for you. :D
Honestly the method youre suggesting is way more trouble than its worth.
And theres NOTHING wrong with Luma nightlies.
They arent unstable.. And thats a much better method, at least until actual release comes.

Plus the ONE person who suggested not wanting to use nightlies went ahead and did it anyway. So...

...Then don't use it. lol. If you are okay with using the nightly builds, then yes, that would of course be easier.

Also, saying there is nothing wrong with nightlies? EVERY release would be a full release if there was literally 0 risk. Chances are, you're right and everything is fine, but you never know. Don't act like it's 100% safe, it's not. For someone like me with a limited edition system, I'm simply not willing to take risks.

Not true. "Stable" releases are often just a compilation of commits made in a particular time frame.. especially when its a project as actively developed as Luma. Why make 20 stable releases a month when you can make 1? That doesnt make the nightly unsafe to use.

Nightlies are "unstable" because if the developer makes a mistake and a commit breaks something, he wouldn't know about it. Maybe he forgot something? Maybe a new change broke the build machine? Who knows? Nightlies are typically untested. The entire point of nightly builds is to give developers feedback about their changes before making a "stable" release. Again, you're probably right and everything is probably fine, but you never know.
