From what i understand, we still dont have an answer if nintendo is banning 3ds due to piracy and the error has just happened to tc. correct?
dude i saw a post earlier about the new keyx being decrypted, where did you read that?, im interested in the subjetc

Correct. ...ish. There was one more confirmed report, I believe. From what i understand, we still dont have an answer if nintendo is banning 3ds due to piracy and the error has just happened to tc. correct?

Well, this is pretty definitive unless you have some facts that contradict it:This thread is hillarous.
This is not a ban lol.
Okay, spoke to nintendo. It's definitely a ban. I don't know how long for and what for, maybe they're starting to crackdown as I use a lot of public headers instead of my own. So beware I guess. Told I will have the full reasons within 5 days.
Tbh, in my opinion, you shouldn't be able to play a pirated game online anyway. Even most modern PC games that are pirated have the online features gimped. After all, allowing people to play pirated games online on a console seems to be a small step away from online cheating, and well... fuck that.Well, if this is really a ban for multiple people connecting online with the same cartridge ID.... that was kinda expected. We only didn't know WHEN it would strike.
Well yes and no. Who was he talking to? A level 1 tech support guy? He didn't know enough to be able to explain why Shamzie was "banned". Rather than say "it's definitely a ban" I would phrase it "the first person I talked to when I called Nintendo thinks it is a ban but doesn't have a clue why. I would be surprised if he makes more than $8 an hour and his boss wants him to get people off the call within 4 minutes if possible."Well, this is pretty definitive unless you have some facts that contradict it:

Those are two different things, really. Devices to cheat with retail cartridges have been around a lot longer.Tbh, in my opinion, you shouldn't be able to play a pirated game online anyway. A possibility yes, but I wouldn't call it definitive.
I'm well aware of that, but allowing people to connect to online services using a modified ROM is a little different than a save editor. Those are two different things, really. Devices to cheat with retail cartridges have been around a lot longer.

He's tried all the possible fixes, though. Nintendo likely doesn't have an error code for a banned NNID yet, so they just prevent him from connecting to the online functionality of games using that one.Error Code: 002-0102
also it happens if the game is not up to date when trying to access online.
Different, but they can potentially allow you to do the same things as far as online cheating goes.I'm well aware of that, but allowing people to connect to online services using a modified ROM is a little different than a save editor.
Situation:
You receive the error code 002-0102 when attempting to connect online.
What to Do:
If you continue to experience this issue, please contact Nintendo by calling 1-800-255-3700. Representatives are available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Pacific Time, 7 days a week.
That's passing the buck.Well they told him they'd give him the reasons for the ban within 5 days. That's pretty confident.
Regardless, that wasn't the main point of my post, which was that you shouldn't be allowed to play online on a game that you didn't pay for. I honestly hope they do end up auto-banning people using public headers. Haters gonna hate.Different, but they can potentially allow you to do the same things as far as online cheating goes.

Nah, it's building a case so that he can't tell them that he did nothing wrong. That's passing the buck.![]()
Ah I didn't realize your issue was with piracy more than cheating. Haters gonna hate indeed.Regardless, that wasn't the main point of my post, which was that you shouldn't be allowed to play online on a game that you didn't pay for. I mean, don't get me wrong, many people pirate and some for decent reasons, but to feel so entitled that you should get every feature that a paying customer got, that's just twisted to me. Also cheating online sucks too. LolAh I didn't realize your issue was with piracy more than cheating. Haters gonna hate indeed.
