I am still using CN to boot into GW emunand, is there an easier way now without needing to use CN?

My emunand is also 9.2 or something but when I tried to update it fails, it won't download the update at all, why that is??

Please help.

update your sysnand to 9.0 or 9.2

you can then just setup your console to autoboot straight into emunand

also you updated your gateway card?

Okay I'll try do that, I hope updating sysnand doesn't reset my emunand though.

And yes I am using the latest launcher.dat

It won't reset it. But you'll need to update using sysupdater. There are plenty of guides here in the CFW flashcard forum

w8 a minute, my sysnand IS on 9.2

How can I boot directly?

MenuHax. See the tutorial section, there are a number of guides on how to set it up (just skip to the parts about installing MenuHax, no need to set up emuNAND a second time).

gateway provides a manual that covers this, if you downloaded latest launcher from their site, you won't miss it...

in short lines :
1 : install MenuHax : Browser Hax -> Homebrew Launcher -> Launch Menuhax Manager and install the hax.
2 : Install CTR : replace Boot.3dsx by the one provided by CTRBootManager. Place Boot.cfg at the root of SD card.
3 : Get the GW hombrew and place it in the 3DS homebrew folder.
4 : Configure Boot.cfg so it boots on GW.3dsx homebrew or on synand, depending on the button you press when you turn your 3DS ON.

you cant unless you downgrade to 2.x and do some other shit, all the other people are talking about booting into the homebrew menu that boots into emunand witch still has a chance to fuck up unlike the direct boot from the downgrade

correct . . . but i will gladly take a chance of having to reboot the console vs a brick chance (that only gets bigger with inexperience)

you gotta risk it to get the biscuit, also its like the downgrade the chance of bricking isnt even that big its all about if your shit and cant follow instructions or not aka its fucking easy as piss.
also how hard is it to hardmod your 3ds nicely? not very so there is little excuse not to do it unless youre to shit and thought downgrading and installing cfw was hard
Not everyone is comfortable with hardmodding their 3DS. CFW is a better, safer option IMO. No need to be rude about it.

Use menuhax and boot into Gateway.
Arm9LoaderHax seems too complicated for you if you dont even know how to use menuhax (no offence buddy :P)

I am pretty sure you can wait the extra 5-10 seconds to boot to emunand than downgrade to 2.1, extract otp keys, upgrade back an so on.

As much as I advocate A9LH around here, I would agree with this sentiment. When you're just getting started with the 3DS, jumping right into A9LH isn't the best idea. Get your feet wet with MenuHax and other homebrew stuff first.
