Just a quicky of if I have the proper ©IOS on my 4.2 Wii (bought that way):

DOP MII report:

Sys check:

To manage and run a USB hardrive, any recomendations on size? 750+ GB is probably good size, for the amount of games, along with a large enough FAT patition to run other homebrew (emulators, possible SNEEK(?)) . . .

750Gigs will hold a lot of games. More you than would ever purchase at least.

I would format the disk as FAT32, even for your Wii games. But you can use WBFS if you are so inclined, but i dont beleive its worth the hassle.

If you go FAT32, you may want to go with a Base 38 V19 IOS @ 249.

Suggest you use CFG USB Loader.

Depending on your choice of loader and drive format, will also determine your cIOS needs.

FAT32/cIOS249 V19 (Base38), and CFG Loader works very well for me.

I will probably use configurable, I might use a bit of WBFS for the larger games (Smash, trilogy, /other dual layered games that run better on WBFS than FAT) . . .

Does having most of those IOS's be trucha signed/what not hurt in anyway?

using both to store games is the worst option imho because of the switching

never heard of large games performing bad on fat
care to elaborate?

unnecessary risk since usbloaders run on cios anyway and wont benefit
just leavem unchanged

Brawl & MPT -- both are dual layered, they have to be split I think. I don't really know of any other problems for games . . .

CFG will automatically 'split' the games on a FAT32 drive.

As will most Windoze Backup Managers.

WBFS is just about a thing of the past.

If you are new to this, no real reason to use WBFS any longer.

Excuse me for butting in, I am new to USB loaders (waiting for my external cable to show up in the mail).

So my big question is, if I use the DVD9 rip of SSBB which is 7 something gigs, how would it split on the fat32 drive? Because fat32 has a file cap of

You dont have to 'split' it yourself, the Wii or the Backupmanager Program (WiiBackup Manager in my case), will automatically 'split' it for you into the relevant parts, and it will work fine in the Wii.

Of course, if you want the full ISO of a dual layer games backed up on your PC, you will need NTFS of course. But thats not required to use a FAT32 drive on the Wii.

The report doesn't say it is. 53, & 253. But than again the syscheck.jpeg says there are 3, but I see two. I think I'd mostly use WBFS, which uses 249.
