just something i'm wondering about. if you want to play a game in English you usually have two versions to choose from, US and European (and sometimes the Japanese version has an English option as well). but occasionally there are differences between the versions: whichever one is released later might have bugs fixed, a revised script or features added ... or it might be censored or have new bugs introduced in the process of adding or removing languages.

a few examples i can think of:
Mr Driller Drill Spirits - Euro version has an extra mode, level and character missing from the US
Pokemon Platinum - Euro ver fixes at least one bug from the US (levels not displayed on GTS) but slot machine mini-game is removed
Harvest Moon DS - bugs fixed in Euro verion, but two casino mini games and GBA cart support removed, and i think the bugs are fixed in the US v1.1 anyway
Break/Brick 'em All - US version has slightly cleaned up (and IMO blander) text. Euro is a bit "engrishy" at times but i prefer it.
LifeSigns - Euro version has a better font and a less hideous logo on the top screen, and possibly revised script
Dementia - Euro ver improves save system and i think some other stuff.

so yeah. anyone know of any more games where this is the case?

TWEWY - Japanese version have specific pins (magazine based) and There is a punishment for evolving to much the "Heaven" pins. Also, one version (don't remember) have a bug for the classification in the save screen

Advance Wars: Day of Ruins/Dark Conflict - US and European versions have different translations (I think the European version is more literal) and some names are different.
AW: Duel Strike - Some names are different.

This is not to mention the numerous games where the European versions include more languages than the US versions. Also a lot of games have different names (like Space Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bubble Galaxy) but don't contain any real difference apart from the different title arts.

naruto ninja destiny/shinobi retsuden:
J:least amount of characters, no character outlines, custom story, 30fps.
E:some more characters and maps, voices removed, story taken from the first few eps of the anime, 60fps.
U:same as E, but with 1 extra char, voices placed back, and more maps, 60fps.

naruto ninja destiny 2/shinobi retsuden 2:
J: characters of the old and new series, story from the first few eps of the new series
U: same as J but in english
E: game engine from J, but only old series characters and story taken from J shinobi retsuden 1

and a little prediction:
pokemon SS/HG
U: same as J but in english
E: gamecorner removed
(apparently some european governments think children should in no way come in contact with gambling of any kind, thus forcing nintendo to cripple games)

The game corner has never been removed from any Pokemon title so far. What makes you think it'll be removed in this one? As long as they stick "Gambling References" on the front of the box they're fine.

I think it was removed in the German Platinum actually. But, yeah, I don't think this applies to the rest of Europe. In some countries, gambling in a game instantly earns it a 18+ certificate.
