Hey I'm curious whether or not the 3ds can run emulators/roms without using a flash cart, and instead utilizing the included sd card (non micro). Whenever you download games from the eshop etc. they are saved on the flash card and can be run, so it would make sense to be able to run homebrewed or hacked games from there. For example, i downloaded the free legend of zelda anniversary game on my sd card, so why couldn't someone capy another game onto the sd card and run it the same way?

It doesn't work that way. The games you download from the e-shop are signed with a special code that only Nintendo knows. As soon as you modify the file, the 3DS can no longer read it. If it were as simple as you are implying, it would have been done almost right away. I believe this was discussed in another thread not long ago too... Hope this helps!

Awwwwww. If only there was a way to generate that code! I really wanted to be able to do this without having to buy a flash cart. Thanks for your input.
