I don't get what you are doing: a Ouendan with american songs? °°
Isn't easier to just change songs/stories in Ouendan instead of changing everything else in EBA?

I'm sure he was trying to insert Ouendan characters into the EBA game so you play as them kinda like the way there was an unlockable extra in Ouendan 2 where you could play as the agents.
Yep, that's exactly it.

And the current files I transferred... I really forgot what. I moved everything from the Root of the 3D folder (none of the sub-folders), and some of the text stuff (I dug around for those). That's really it.

Gonna replace some graphics with Ouendan 2 graphics instead, too. Like the "Retry" screen.

So in essence, is the main problem you're having is figuring out which file does which? No SUPER L33T HAXXOR PROGRAMMING skills? Just a DS Lazy and some file swap?

Pretty much. As I said, I'm new to this. I'm gonna try more advanced hacks in the future (maybe a complete revamp of Metroid Prime Hunters. That would probably be a group project).

Do you actually have some reason to think you'd be able to do that?

If so, please share.
Did I say I would? No. Did it say it was only a possibility? Yes. Did I say it would have to be a group project> Yes. You just refuse to read the important parts.

Now you shut up, and let's get back on-topic.

Well its just as possible that I could design the next game console, the Kintendo Superstation.

You shouldn't make silly claims like that.

Hardly the same thing, but I do agree, it doesn't seem like a possibility.

I don't see why you're jumping on him... people have been hacking and modding FPS games for as long as the genre has existed, so I wouldn't write it off as impossible.

In any case, I'm interested in seeing where this EBO project goes. I'm a huge fan of all 3 games.

If I can either find what I need or get enough help, then it should be done in a month or two. I'll upload a patch (and a link to the patcher; seems not many people know about it) when that time comes. Until then, you can watch beta versions on my YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/profile?user=NFreakHL).

Anyway, back into the actual hacking, I think I found the character files. As I said before, I tried moving everything from Ouendan 2's "mdl" folder except the files for the in-game map, and it ended up freezing the game every time the characters would be shown (replays, and trying to choose Single Player). I explored this folder further, and found files such as:

CHRGCHR000.nsbca_
CHRGCHR009.nsbca_
CHRGCHR130.nsbca_

They seem to be random numbers. Those examples are taken from Ouendan 2. However, there's a problem with this theory. Ouendan 1 should theoretically have these CHR files. Yet Ouendan doesn't even have a mdl folder. And EBA only has three or four of them, all with different numbers; Ouendan 2 has almost ten. These MIGHT be the character files, but I'm not completely sure.

I think I know a way to test my theory. I'll get back with the results later.

Well, the first Ouendan worked mighty different from the 2nd and EBA. OTO2 and EBA are much more closely related than either are to the first OTO. EBA and OTO2 work on an evolved engine so it's likely there would be differences with those from the 1st, but that they both would share a lot in common.

True. It's probably better to get the stuff from Ouendan 2 instead anyway; better quality.

I'm gonna run my test in a minute or so. I just realized one other problem.

Where would I find the script for the fire to appear in the background? EBA has the face graphics, but in OTO, those also bring up the fire. Gotta find out where that is in Ouendan 2.

Ookaay... the test failed. =P

But I think I found out something. What I found wasn't the image files. It was actually the scripts that apply the images, methinks. When I put these in, all the menu buttons became white blocks (and not just buttons; some regular icons, too).
