I just got an M3 Perfect today, and I'm loving it thus far. Only problem is, I have quite a few saves on my EFAII that I'd like to have on the M3. I got the saves off of the EFA and onto my computer just fine, but I can't get them to work on the M3. I tried using m3savetool to convert the saves to .dat files a couple of times (and yes, I made sure that the name of the .dat and the game matched exactly). I've tried using http://www.shunyweb.info/index.php to convert them, from EZFIV (.sav) to M3 (.dat), which hasn't done anything. Can anyone thing of something that might work? I'd really rather not loose 40+ hours on several RPGs if I can help it

I'm not too sure about the EFAII (I have the first one), but it might be impossible to retrieve your full save files using the client, unless you set the save size correctly when you first copied the roms across (for the EFA 1 it defaults to something really small).
If not, it'll only read part of each save from the SRAM when you copy it from the cart onto your PC.

To tell if this is the case, let us know the size of the save files you retrieved and what games they are for.

If this is indeed the case, there is still hope (as long as you haven't formatted your cart or something silly). If you have some sort of external copier device like the EZ-Writer (or something like a F2A cable), you could use it to retrieve as much of the SRAM as possible, then divide the resulting file up into individual save files (may involve some hex editing), or you could use Chism's game save backup utility to try and achieve the same thing (or maybe even rein? I doubt it though

The reason I know all this is because I made the same mistake at one point

Lets see.. the games and save sizes are...

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow 32KB
Final Fantasy IV 32KB
Final Fantasy V 32KB
Final Fantasy VI 32KB
Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland 32KB
Super Mario Advance 3 8KB
Summon Night Swordcraft Story 8KB
Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 8KB
Sword of Mana 64KB
Tactics Ogre The Knight of Lodis 64KB
Tales of Phantasia 8KB

I could really care less about all the games except FFVI and Summon Night 2, I was REALLY FAR in both of them and I'd rather not start over on the M3. I don't have an external copier any more though =(

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
