Yes !!

Thank you for that it is awesome !!

All is great except it freezes on overwriting savegame

I re-read my original post and it sounds like I'm bitching. I just wanted to say thank you. Duke 3-D is one my favorite games and it's nice to see it working so well on the wii. :)

Hi,
I upload my controller settings, this is the best setting that I could get for Classic Controller. Hope you like it ;)

This build seems almost perfect... Works great with all the shareware, retail, and custom maps that I have, and I can't really find any flaws. I am using Originalhamster's control config, but I may end up editing it some, because I use the classic control pro, which is slightly different, I think. In particular, I have a lot of trouble switching items. Again, that's due to the controller config, NOT this build.

Again, great work, and I'll keep playing so I can try to find some bugs.

hey Hendrick266, i know this is going to sound like a stupid request.. but is there anyway you could manage to have dukenukem look for the timidity files in its own directory?
having "sd:/usr/local/lib/timidity/" and "sd:/etc/timidity/" just makes your SD card so messy...

also.. whenever i try to change the controls in-game it just locks up at the "press the key to assign as" screen... is that a known issue? if so, how do i change the controls?

The reason for those paths is because they're the default ones used by the timidity library, which is used by SDL-Wii, which in turn is used by several other homebrew apps (Descent, CorsixTH, OpenTTD, DOSBox, WiiDoom, etc) and all these apps use those default paths. Otherwise you'd have to have multiple copies of the midi soundfonts for each app.

has anyone made a forwarder channel for this yet?

edit: ALSO... why does the sky look all weird and stretchy when you look up and move around? i dont think its a bug.. it just looks odd. was wondering what the explanation for that is. and also, when using the nunchuck setup, if you point the wiimote too far to the left or right the screen will just stop scrolling if the mouse cursor touches the side of the screen.. it makes it really hard to play the game with this issue. and why does the strafe speed seem to be twice as fast as walking forward or backwards? i seem to be the only one following this thread... :(

hey tueidj, i realize youre busy with other major projects atm, but i was wondering if you had ever bothered looking into porting shadow warrior to the wii as well. that'd be pretty badass.

Thanks!

That is unusual, and I don't have any solution to report to you at this time. The game should recognize all input it receives.

I would do this, but I would need help from someone so I can be absolutely sure it won't banner brick any Wiis. Someone would have to construct a banner for it as well.

and also, when using the nunchuck setup, if you point the wiimote too far to the left or right the screen will just stop scrolling if the mouse cursor touches the side of the screen.. it makes it really hard to play the game with this issue. and why does the strafe speed seem to be twice as fast as walking forward or backwards?
The specifics for the motion controls definitely need work. I will also look into adjusting the default strafe axis scale for the next milestone.

Will you implement GC pad support?
I intend to but it will take a lot of work. Stay tuned.

porting shadow warrior to the wii
It would take duplication of a lot of the work done so far but it is possible. Maybe someday. It would best be put off until SW is made more unified with EDuke32.

Has anyone tried the high res texture packs for Duke 3D?
The HRP will not work on the Wii port because the OpenGL renderers are not capable of being supported on Wii at present.

for those who are interested, mikefor20 here at gbatemp(aka Jimi34) was nice enough to make a forwarder for eDuke32 Wii. I figured it was worth sharing. He has done a great job on it :) there are 2 variations of this forwarder channel!

http://www.mediafire.com/?p4xhqjs7ysz8dc1 (audio is "come get some")

http://www.mediafire.com/?1hkd2v2dh45xowk (audio is duke3d theme music)

thanks again to mikefor20/Jimi34!!!

EDIT: the forwarders now display "EDuke32" as requested by Hendricks266.

Thanks! I am a little hesitant to try this myself on my Wii since I can't install BootMii/boot2 and I don't have Priiloader installed so I don't want a banner brick.

Can some video of these be posted?

Also, note that the correct capitalization of the program is EDuke32, not eDuke32. If this error is present in the forwarder (I haven't tested it) I would appreciate it if a new version fixed it.

ill try to upload a video here in a bit...

edit: heres a horrible quality video of the forwarder in action... enjoy!
