I now have a R4, but since I want to have some more options, plus i want to play GBA games, i'm looking for a new card..
Should I go for a CycloDS or a EDGE? And which card operates the best with slot 2 cards?
Options I want:

able to run Lameboy
able to run moonshell
able to run smoothly with another card2 slot (EZ flash? No idea about slot 2 cards..)

EDGE and Cyclo can, yes.

Both carts require Moonshell. It is it's main media player.

I've heard no problems of either card having issues regarding the EZ Flash 3-in-1 device.

Overall, I would go with EDGE, since it's newer, and less likely to be copied by clones.

Thanks for your help Brian.
I'm going to read some reviews. I heard some good stories about M3 and Acekard as well.
I just want a smooth looking menu, flawless GBA gaming (just load slot 2, and play!), real time saving and advanced homebrew (DLDI)/skinning...
I just wonder what's the best overall card.

No problem, but sadly, if you're looking for a cart that has Real Time Save, I guess Cyclo is your best bet on that one. EDGE does not support it. Maybe in future firmware upgrades, but as of now it doesn't

Hmm ok that's a pity..
Does EDGE has a automatic DLDI patcher? I'm not a big hero in homebrew, i even can't get moonshell 2 to work..
I'm going to watch some reviews to see which has the smoother looking menu's.
I really want to skin my own menu, but I guess both cards can do that?

Pretty sure it does have Auto DLDI patching. Can anyone confirm? I'm not totally sure.

And yup, you can skin your own menu on both carts . 100% sure on that.

I think I'm going for the M3, I really dig the good compatibility with GBA games/slot 2. Plus it has a nice menu too.
Thanks for the help Brian!

hey wait a minute i mean really
"poor team support"
the edge team support is only as good a the cyclo's in terms of firmware updates for the obvious reason and while it might not have real time save i really see no need for it in a game as the provided saving is adequate
it has auto DLDI patching and everthing the cyclo has except real time save, slow motion and in game .txt reader and the edge is about $30-40 cheaper on dealextreme I HAVE ONE IT HAS NEVER FAILED ME AND YOU WON'T REGRET GETTING ONE !!!!!!!!

Star Wars Jedi Alliance is not working and Republic Heroes is going to be released in 9/15...I wish they can fix this...

nice one

i bet that he doesn't even own an EDGE.

im now officially worried though, its been sometime we haven't got a firmware update

Of course he doesn't own an EDGE. He's a troll who should be banned by now but the mods tend to like him? He pisses me off badly.

And I know...last update was back in March. But then again, all the newer games seem to be working fine. But they could at least just release a simple hardware upgrade if possible. Still waiting for the, "Real Time Save" feature.
