Does exist some special firmware to use the game save cartridge in combination with the blaze universal games adapter v4?

This special adapter has two slots
The blaze has a slot for the cart you want to play and one for the donor CIC to use to convert it.

For example 6102 USA matches 7101 PAL.

But the ED either doesn’t use a CIC and needs one on top, or uses ULTRA CIC and doesn’t need converting at all.

Does the ED64Plus fit in your console?
Does it have a switch for P/N on the side?

Also I have the v4:

I think ed64plus fits on any console and not, it hasn't the switch or a slot on top but I was wondering if a custom firmware could backup the game saves and stuff or the game itself from either one of the two slots

I'd like to insert a game in the back slot and the ed64 in the top slot or vice versa just to see what happens but I'm afraid of breaking the adapter or the game or the chinese everdrive, have you ever done this?

Afaik it’s impossible what you are trying to do. You need something like the JoeyN64 to rip the cartridge saves, or a memory pak to usb method to copy save off the memory pak.

Luckily through the everdrive you can back up the mempak, if only I had it before losing the castlevania and shadow man saves

@sunras it won’t read the ED64 because no rom is present until you load it.

The adaptors are basic, you plug in a cart, it reads.

Everdrive and EDPlus are different. You have to select a rom to load, it’s not always present.

A custom edplus firmware could hack this adapter which is not that basic since it has software inside as you should have seen yourself

You said you want to see what happens, the answer is: nothing will happen.

Edit:

Reading up on how these universal adaptors can be used, there are multiple versions, some use the Expansion pak to function, others don’t work when an expansion pak is present.

Sure some contain cheat code software, but it’s basic pass through tech otherwise.

I don’t know what you expect to achieve by putting the ED64P on top. I would expect nothing to happen, because no rom is loaded on power on, and the adaptor will therefore not function.

Insert the adapter with only one game inserted in the rear slot, then turn on the console by holding down the adapter button and you will realize that you are wrong because the menu will appear

Ok so it’s passing through.

Did you try it with no game inserted in the back?

What is the purpose though?

The menu doesn't even start in that case and that's why it's not passing through and so you're wrong again, the purpose was to verify your statement
