EA Play 2019 - Livestream Coverage

This is the one you’ve been waiting for; the beloved-by-all Electronics Arts is about to take the stage and announce their upcoming litany of games. Prepare yourself for exciting announcements like sports, sports, and more sports! The EA Play event will start shortly, at 9 am PT. Once this post is ten minutes old, the show will begin. You can watch it live, or stay tuned to this thread to read a summary of all the major reveals made.

We have 15 minutes of uncut Star Wars: Fallen Order. The main character can use a grapple device and run on walls:

FIFA 20 is headed to the Switch as the Legacy Edition.

Apex Legends is getting a season 2 battle pass, which includes skins and cosmetics. Season 2 begins July 2. Watson is a new playable character.

Battlefield V is getting new maps.

Sims 4 will get an Island Living expansion.

Battlefield V added to Origin Access vault.

Madden 20 will “shake up the formula”.

Well I'm pretty much sold on Jedi: Fallen Order. And that's all I expected to care about from EA anyway, Respawn will remain their last great developer for as long as EA stays hands-off with them.

Fallen Order looks alright. Doesn't have my pants wet or anything, might pirate if I have a slow week.

Everything else was a write-off. No Battlefront 2? C'mon. It's their best game currently.

Thoughts on Jedi Fallen Order:

Really enjoyed what I saw from it. Gameplay did look a bit linear and straightforward, but it was the combat that stole the show for me. Gave me huge Sekiro vibes - was there any kind of system similar to the posture system in Sekiro? One enemy bar was the healt, the other one was...?
Anyway, definitely gonna try and play this on hard mode.

Apparently this was played on what, Easy or Normal mode, no? Hated how on EA Play, just before the demo, they tried to frame this as being played by a pro who knows the game and its systems, and then the dude takes some stupid fucking hits from the spiders. Didn't look like that great of a player, and that hurt the showcase, in my opinion. Not that it's a problem with the combat of the game itself.

In terms of graphics, ambience, sound, everything looked/sounded great.

Saw a tweet from April this year, EA Star Wars account, saying this game won't have any loot boxes or microtransactions. If that's the case, then I'm pretty sure they have my money if what we learn more of this game keeps in line with what was shown here. We'll see.

    Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?

    @TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)

    I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version

    @Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!

    I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it

    I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
