Homebrew dvdx/mplayer/dvds

After reading many articles about dvdx and mplayer I am still unsure/confused what the best way to play dvds on the wii is. Could someone please help me out with the best way that will playback divx and original dvds? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I am soft-modded and have the 4.1 firmware.
