Can someone give me step-by-step instructions on how to
get a save off my original cart onto a G6lite

here is what I think should happen

get the rom of the original cart
start up the G6 in NDS menu
put original cart into the DS
push select and use Backup DS --> Default
(this should back up the original save from the cart to the G6)
Turn off the DS
Put the G6 on the computer
the "read" the *.0 file from the Rom of the same name as original cart

its not working so far, any tips?

I've successfully copied a save to and from mario kart. I haven't tried it with any other games.

ok what happens when you do all of these things
then you write the save back to the G6 and test it (save works on the Rom)
turn off the DS, turn on the ds wait till after processing data to clear sram
turn off the DS again, then turn it back on
Highlight the correct rom
then default-->DS
turn off the DS
turn on the DS
start original cart
and when you start your original cart its still the old save

It looks like you're doing everything correctly. When I did that with MKDS it worked fine. I didn't actually copy the save from the computer, but that shouldn't make a difference.

What game are you trying to do this with?

no game inpaticular
I was just trying to get it to work just in case i needed to use it one day.
maybe get it added to the G6 Faq sheet or something

I've having some problems. I boot my G6 using my R4 as a pass-device just fine. I then eject the R4 and pop in Castlevania or Rocket Slime. And nothing happens. The game title never pops up on the G6 menu, so I can't do anything. I refresh it by hitting 'NDS Game' in the upper right, but nothing.

Any help guys?

You wont see the game pop up as if it was a rom.

Waht you do is have a rom of Castlevania and/or rocket slime on there, boot the G6 using the R4, pop ur C/RS game in, select the rom of the game you have, then hit select, and you want Backup DS --> Default

your save from ur cart will be the save for that rom

Thanks a ton man, that did the trick! Any ideas on converting .0 to .sav? Renaming doesn't work....maybe I need to somehow get my 256k .0 to 512k before I rename it to .sav?

EDIT: R4 Save converter did the trick, if anyone else is looking to do the same thing.

R4DS Save Converter

Just one note. Make sure that you are highlighting the right game when you transfer the save. I transfered my save from my Sonic Rush Cart to Brain Age once then I wasn't paying attention. Luckily if you rename the errantly placed save for the right program and move it it will still work.
