Hacking Dummies guide to PSP softmodding

Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone can help me out by giving me a dummies explanation on how to softmod a PSP 3000. I have version 6.31 software, and all I want to do is to load ISO's and I don't have a Pandora Battery. Is it possible? I'm sorry if this is a stupid thing to ask but I can't understand any of the content i'm finding on the internet or GBATemp as they all seem conflicting and extremely confusing. =S Please help!!!

Basically you want to upgrade to 6.35 (NOT ANYTHING LATER, DO NOT USE THE WIRELESS UPDATE, you want to download the 6.35 update file and run it on your PSP), then download and use the 6.35 HEN and the ISO loader.
