Install XP on one partition, 98 on a second partition, and then Ubuntu or Linux Mint on a smaller third partition. Linux will take over the boot dealie, and you'll be able to choose from the three in the grub menu.
Or don't install an OS you'll never use just to adjust the boot sequence, install GRUB to do so without installing Linux or use the built-in boot manager Windows already has. :P

I've never seen WIndows boot manager for just 98 + XP. cool!

Grub is easier to edit with Linux and it's useful to have around just in case. I find it better for diagnosing hardware problems than XP. Plus it's easier to configure GRUB from within a linux.

I just don't think it's productive to add another OS into the mix when it's completely unnecessary.

Wanting to run Windows 98 is something I can understand (although remember to "snatch" some files from Windows 95, like cdfs.vxd - that file still haunts me after many years), but Windows XP? Why? There's absolutely no reason to run it these days, just go full-on 8.1 or wait for Windows 10.

Maybe the computer can't handle Windows 7+. The system requirements are an awful lot higher than XP.

Will you give me mouth to mouth oxygen if my throat closes?
  • K3N1 @ K3N1:
Nah the air can do that
  • K3N1 @ K3N1:

    Yes it requires a degree
  • K3N1 @ K3N1:
I could also yank out the rest of my teeth but theirs professionals for that
  • x65943 @ x65943:
If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
  • JuanMena @ JuanMena:
    Just kiss me Kyle.
  • x65943 @ x65943:
You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
  • x65943 @ x65943:
"Just kiss me Kyle." And I thought all the godreborn gay stuff was a smear campaign

Seems like, your PSU was waiting for a partner.
  • JuanMena @ JuanMena:
