Homebrew dstwo plus troubleshooting

sorry accidentally mis clicked and started the chat. so i have been working on my dstwo for hours now and have not been able to get the 3ds functions to work. whenever i boot to gateway mode, the emuNAND works but does not allow me to see my games pressing select. i even decided to downgrade my fw from 9.2 to 4.2 thinking the issue was that i was booting into gateway mode via the browser instead of MSET not knowing if it would change anything. i have been searching the web for tutorials and troubleshooting for ideas but come across the same tutorial and the same pictures on different web pages. let me tell you my process and tell me if i am doing anything wrong.

launcher.dat on sd card, dstwo EOS and plugin on micro sd card including 3ds backups

run gateway simulator and go to home menu afterwards

go to settings-other settings-profile-ds profile and boot into gateway mode

then supposedly press select to see the 3ds games that are supposedly on my micro sd card that i never actually see
