If this came out a year or two ago, yeah, I'd consider getting one, depending on the price range. Nowadays, Nintendo is already abandoning the DS and starting to push towards the newest model. Buying this now would be a waste compared to just saving the cash up for the next DS model (which will, odds are, be debuted officially this year).
are you some kind of moron?
just wondering

I'll grab one for the wife, she can pass her DSlite down to my son.

We did not bother with a DSi, the slot2 was too important to my kids and I. My wife never uses it.

She carries a purse, so does not have to worry about the "fits in the pocket" thing that makes the lites so nice for me.

This way we will have a DSi in the family in case a game that uses the cameras and is actually worth a damn ever comes out, she will have the nice bigger screens, and we really don't lose any functionality.

Erm, Nintendo's software line-up for the DS is little and low, and there's already plenty of rumblings about a new DS. I'm not a moron by any means, there's just no point in buying a new version of a system if the system is being slowly edged out. I'll get whatever the DS2 is, not this.

I don't know why you are all complaining about how the screen size is bigger. I think it's a good thing. Sure, it's like blowing up a horrible sized movie, but you can say that about a lot of things. The best things, in my opinion, of the DSi(s) are that they have nicely sized screens. It's easier on the eyes.

I mean people watch DVD-quality movies on their 40" TV and love it.

Besides, it's MATTE. ;D

But I myself would not buy it just for the fact that I already have a DS Lite. What's the point? If my DS breaks horribly, as the hinge is already lost, then I would consider it. Until then. I don't have the cash to burn on unnecessary items. Plus, the colors are not so enticing.

Well, I could very well be wrong. I usually am. I hope I am, actually. I just thought that Nintendo keeps accidentally revealing details of the DS2, even saying they'll debut it very recently. Maybe I've just misinterpreted things, though.

genuinely interested in seeing some of these details!
any links?
from what I've seen looks like the DS(i) has another year or two of life

I think the DSi XL would be very nice. However, I don't like the colors that are presently available. It's still a "up in the air" decision for me. I am curious as to how soon a next generation ds will be announced. I don't know if there is so much speculation around nothing, or nintendo is trying to cover up the "true" information that was released. Personally I would hate to spend the money on an XL only to have nintendo make an announcement at E3 this year.

Again.....

This was ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN JAPAN.

The DS is famous for brain training and is as close as a DIGITAL DICTIONARY.

The DSi LL WAS MADE FOR PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE WHO LIKES DICTIONARY APPS AND SUCH

LOOK AT THE COLORS....it's not your ordinary DS colors.

DONT BUY IT if you hate it as IT'S NOT INTENDED FOR YOU
