Hacking DSi XL and R4itt Upgrade problem

hi,
i am new to this DSi and R4 cards thing, so i hope you can help me

i just bought DSi XL with R4itt Upgrade card.

it plays some games fine, but when i try Metal Slug 7, it just hangs or does not run the game.
i haven't tested more games, so i don't know if it has problems with others.

i have updated to latest V1.6 firmware and nothing changed.
so before trying to contact the developers (i guess it would be hard, since they didn't make any updates since april), i wonder if there is any solution ?

should i try other firmwares ?
also i am interested in trying the Wood R4 firmware, so i wonder if it's compatible with my card?

you have the latest version of the only firmware that you can use with that cart.
it is likely that Metal Slug 7 is freezing due to Anti Piracy that wasn't patched by their firmware. you may be able to patch the rom itself so that anti piracy is no longer functioning on it.
