As you read it guys...
We now have DS Virtual Console running on Wii U.

The first game to be released is Brain Age and has been released for japanese and european audiences this past week so far. Here's a vid showcasing the Gamepad running the game:

This got me all hyped!
What games are you expecting for VC?

Personally, I am expecting all the major first party titles like Mario 64 DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, Yoshi's Island DS, NSMB, Golden Sun Dark Dawn and some third party like the three Castlevanias (mostly Order of Ecclesia) and RE DS.

Thank you, Nintendo for all you effort! I am really happy that I chose a Wii U!

I'm wondering when North America is going to get them, but we could be getting this tomorrow for all we know. I'm hoping for a few games, although there's some (Pokémon) that will never happen.

like Mario 64 DS

I would rather get the original N64 version or an HD remake (though I can't see the latter of those happening as we've already gotten one remake). If one of those came out, I'd buy it just for the ability to use the gamepad. If the DS version came, I'd just keep on playing it in Wii64 with the Wiimote+nunchuck. Yoshi's Island DS and Mario Kart DS would be nice to see, as they are games I've never owned.

Why would you want this? You can play them for free with a SuperCard for your 3DS.

Not everyone has a 3DS, much less a SuperCard. Some people prefer to pay for games too.

And of course JP and EU get it when all we get is that stupid Super Dodge Ball BS today. Whoop dee freaking doo.

It's been out in Europe for a few days now, and it's free. Too bad I already own it. Also, it's great to see Nintendo give away one of the most unimpressive DS games. The novelty of Kawashima wears off in one hour.

I beg you pardon, but Super Dodge Ball is actually one of my top NES games of all time.
I would rather buy that one instead of Brain Age anytime :P

Besides, I can wait a little longer for DS games in the USA since there is no other DS title available besides that one.

Ah, but the DS game is free, so no money wasted really. It just pisses me off how badly the VC is being managed in the US.

I wonder how much they will cost. If the price is good (like around the price of other VC) it's a good deal, but if they cost as much as a used DS game then I would rather have that.
Though I'm worried about how awful DS games will look on a bigger screen... If they employ some of that native resolution magic we've been seeing in DesmuME though then it's going to be a winner for sure.

Anyway, Brain Age for free isn't a bad deal. Doubt I'll pick it up because my Wii U is still on 4.1.
Speaking of which, it's tried to update to 5.0 twice now when I turned it on. I just turned it back off and the next time I turned it on it skipped the update. What's up with that? I thought 4.1 didn't auto install updates. Will disabling "automatic software downloads" stop that or do I have to turn off WiFi completely? Kinda off-topic but this is really annoying me.

I hope Nintendo adds the option to decide either if we want the DS screens to be displayed side by side or have one screen on the TV and the other on the Gamepad.

I REALLY hope they do so since some games are designed for touch screen only and others combine controls and touch screen, which would make it hard if the screens are side by side.

Nintendo gave away a DS game away for free for a limited time and that allowed me to try how DS would work on the GamePad, they pretty much got it right after all, it's hard to fuck up something that's somewhat ideal for it. :P

I've got a 2DS and I don't pirate my games, I like to support the devs unlike you guys.
