Why does this take so long to import files from my pc's rom folder?
Rominator is much faster. I like that it handles rar files though. Does it only take this long the first time you load a folder?

it's only a 1-time thing. (there is no data stored yet) since it's converts/repacks, get the rominfo etc.
Rominator only grabs 4 items. my program grabs everything. and stores all the ROMinfo
(which you can see in the viewer) all the languages and extra info is sometimes timeconsuming.

i am working on a update, that will change things.
1. a speed import.
2. a slow import (like the one that's in there)

number 1 will only import the name quick and nothng else.
if you want all the extra info, and repacking/trim etc then pick option 2 or do option 2 overnight.

doing all the roms takes about 3 hours for me. incl renaming compress , archiving.

also another reason that it takes longer the 1st time, is that you never need to wait on a ROMlist Update.
If Roms are marked as unknown you can select or fill out the missing part, or just skip it.. so your pretty much staying
up to date. even for renaming etc.
