How about saving, does the R4 save like a regular card?

Yes. When you first boot a ROM, it will say something like 'Could not find SAV file. Create now?' and then you press 'yes' and use it like a normal game.

No,you cant buy them in stores. You either have to find someone who sells Computer and Console things cheap or order form the internet.

There was a DS bricker a while back called the Crashme, it never really got that widespread though.
