Hacking Ds Lite mobo repair help

I have a couple of nds lite motherboards liying around and the only problem with them is that the clip that holds the touchscreen cable in place is completley missing. It seems a shame to have these waisted. The touch screens only have four connections to make. does anyone know of a way i could solder a touch screen directly to the board? or better yet a replacement clip that i could solder in place. I can repair most faults with ds/ds lites as can many but this i have yet to find a solution. I theoretically have enough left over parts to build up about two dslites....if i can solve this problem.
