Hacking Ds Lite Charger Grip

DOes anyone know the ds lite charger grip by nyko. they sell it at gamestop http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDet...roduct_id=64177 alot of people says its bad and good. What do you think fellow gbatempers

They do have better grips out there but they do work well and are a joy to use. I have a few pairs these are not my faves but are high on the list.
The Naki World grip is so far my favorite but I plan to buy some with an extra large batt (i was told 3000+ mAh).

Heh.. by charger grip I thought it was some sort of fancy rubber grip you put on your ds charger to help you take it out of the wall socket

My buddy used that exact one for about two weeks on his new Zelda DS. His DS stopped charging. He replaced his DS. Can't say for sure it was because of that charger but he won't use it anymore.

I doubt it was the nyko. I have one and I use to use it for a few months and never had any problems other than the colors didnt match.

yeah only going to use the charger part when going to japan. 12 hours
Also is their a different way to charge my ds in the airplane

You can buy some spare batts and just charge them all. When one dies switch it out. Cheap but there is the risk of losing the screw or you can get 1 or 2 of these. (link from DX to follow shortly)

It was the exact one the OP linked to. But like I said there really is no way to prove that the charger grip was at fault for the DSLs charging problems. Could be just a weird coincedence. The reason I never liked the idea of a unit like this is that you are essentially piggybacking two batteries of different capacities. I personally have several extra batteries and an external charger instead.
