Hacking DS Lite Backlight Codes

I have downloaded Narin's cheat database at cheats.gbatemp.net for my DSTT. I noticed that there are DS Lite Backlight Control cheats, how would I be able to use them?

And yes, I do have a DS Lite.

From reading other stuff on the internet, people are describing that code as useless.
Personally, I never use it, and it doesn't seem to work anyway.
