If your card has r4ids.cn on it, it can't be used. There are so many different "R4 Gold" cards that the best way to tell is by their site.

I'm fairly certain mine came from that site. But I'm more curious as to why their cards specifically will never work for this. Any idea of why this is the case?

Because the person who makes the forwarders won't make a forwarder for the card, as apparently it's incompatible.

If I'm correct, there needs to be a soft reset SRL for this card.

How is that obtained? As far as I know the card has a _DS_GAME.dat file and @bobmcjr sent the ROMs of the flashcart to you.

The card does indeed have a _DS_GAME.dat file

For the R4i SDHC card, it can be from one of the kernel .zip files. The name is Demonrst.dat. It looks like Apache edited that into the R4i Gold Stage2 Launcher, which I then edited it into a forwarder.

Nothin' there for the standard firmware, aside from _DS_MENU.dat and updater.dat (probably updates the card's firmware) but the alternative media firmware has an interesting WOODR4.nds file in it.

Shouldn't you update the OP? There's a bit more we can do now, like running forwarder CIAs.

Mostly DS Mode. Depending on what's in the DSi-Extended header, it'll either run in DS Mode or DSi Mode.
They work, because most of the content (graphics, music, etc.) are stored in arm9, and both arm7 and arm9 are loaded to RAM, like the retail Slot-1 games.

No, not running, I have a r4.
Dumping is backing up the content of a cartridge to one file.

Guess that just means the fw is incompatible.
IIRC forwarders are small programs that modify ysmenu settings to auto launch. Kinda like how people uses to get moonshell to load commercial rom.

If someone can get YSMenu working on the Gateway Blue card, then you can use forwarders.
