I'm curious.. What will happen if I convert a NDS game to CIA, install it on NAND, modify the title ID into Apache Thunder's Launcher source code to match the one from the game, and try to launch it?
It wouldn't launch cuz it would try to read from a non existing game cartridge... already been discussed before

EDIT - Nvm, I installed your launcher to SD instead, and it works perfectly now :)

@Apache Thunder
Is your launcher supposed to be installed to SD or NAND? I installed it and Pictochat to NAND, pictochat in both sysnand and emunand, and your launcher just in emunand, but it doesn't even show up on the home menu.

thing is can still be made to work with ntr ds games cause pokemon black and white are to big for them to be installed in ds iware

Would it be possible to have TWL_FIRM (and for that matter, AGB_FIRM, but with the SD Nintendo 3DS folder instead, of course) look on the emuNAND's TWL_NAND for DSiWare, so we don't have to have them installed to both? That's really the last major "issue" I can think of aside from graphics tweaks (and the elephant of "omguhd romz").

Well, at least we know by now that omguhd romz isn't feasible and that changing the way games are rendered might be plausible given enough research, but the former two are definitely intriguing.
If I'm not mistaken, the survive-reboot and SD-redirection patches are performed on NATIVE_FIRM, right?
It's definitely "not that simple", but maybe it's possible to do the same for TWL_ and AGB_.
Considering how all these new patches have only been showing up in the past month or so, I'd assume it's being looked into. I certainly hope someone like @Aurora Wright or @TuxSH can shed some light on these.
Having that been said, I have some questions of my own, paraphrased from this post:
Are a cartridge's icon and title/autostart flag used for anything beyond validity checks? By extension, is it possible to patch the checks out? And would patching them out make ancient autostart flashcarts (e.g. Original R4s, M3, G6, so on forth) work?

Question for you guys, is it possible to launch nds roms in DSi mode (using a flashcart obviously)? (and except with Cyclo that already does it)

If you have a DS flashcard that works with this trick, then of course you can use it to play nds games

Nds roms can never run in DSi mode

Really? Can I ask you why? :D

You did not understand what I wanted to say, I was speaking of playing the DS games with their own (built-in) DSi specific features/enhancement.

@Ekaitz please read @Sgt. Lulz post that is on this page and click the link that is provided in the post.
He wasn't asking about running roms as DSiWare which is what @Sgt. Lulz was about, he was asking about running roms off a flashcart in DSi mode.
You know, extra RAM, camera, etc.

As far as I understand (yet to find my only DSi-enabled game), the TWL launcher starts cartridges in DSi mode regardless of whether the inserted cart has DSi support(someone earlier in the thread mentioned a test homebrew reports DSi mode as enabled), but nobody seems to have confirmed it in practice on a game.

Sorry, I thought his newest post was talking about running roms as DSiWare. I knew his other post was about flashcarts, my bad. :)

That ain't what we were asking about either, actually.
What we're asking about is whether or not it's possible to redirect TWL/AGB_FIRM to emuNAND, since they try to boot from sysNAND directly regardless of whether or not they're installed in emuNAND, which just results in an error if you don't have it installed on sysNAND.

I swears, this page is a cascade of misunderstandings.

@Sgt. Lulz I was assuming that @TheNerdWIzard was referring to the disproval your post was opening with, and that was concerned with the aforementioned inject-DS-ROM-as-DSiWare thing. He and I apparently cleared up what he misunderstood about the question @SLiV3R actually had, which was about forcing flashcarts to run ROMs in DSi-enhanced mode.

Can we please focus on that question? Thankoos.

N.B. If we ever figure out the not-reboot, load-DSiWare from emuNAND thing you did ask about, I'm all for that, as I (gasp) use CFW AND have bought DSiWare from the eShop.
