In the next year all there seems to be is pokemon, golden sun and kingdom hearts

I don't think Golden Sun, at least the English version, will be appearing in the next year. Camelot says summer 2010 for the Japanese version, and if their past track record is any indication we won't be seeing the English version until early to mid 2011.

Hopefully there will still be a DS at that point. Considering how early this game is in development I wouldn't be even a tiny bit surprised to see this wind up on the next generation handheld.

EDIT: Forgot to answer the quote. Even if it is released in Japan, it'll still be good and probably get a menu patch. And has Golden Sun ever disappointed? I mean, it's only had 2 games, but both were phenominal.

The DS has sold, oh I don't know, 100 million+ units. It won't die any time soon. The PS2 sold 140 million+ units and is still getting games for it. Maybe not great ones, but still (although there is another Jak and Daxter game scheduled for it).

Also saying the DS is dead means no more games are made for it and it doesn't sell any more. The Dreamcast is "dead". The Gamecube is "dead". The GBA is "dead". The DS is NOT "dead".

Can we close this thread? It's only been people saying "ds is dead psp is way better ds is shitty shovelware psp has better games" and people with sense saying that the DS has good games. I really do hate this fucking dumbass threads where fanboys (for both the DS and the PSP) duke it out, because in the end both are so incredibly blinded by their fanboy status that no headway or mutual agreement will or ever be reached.

I don't care about future games, about some shining star shrouded in hype and conjecture.
All I see is 4000+ releases, with a 90% ratio of liquid sewage.

I don't see your point. Most games that get released for the DS are general crap, if you haven't realized that already then its a shame really. Only once in a while a proper game gets released, you can either live with that reality or you should stop DS gaming all together. But seriously dude, there are so many good upcoming releases.

true, if you bought a thing that is generally aimed at kids, who should expect things like this, you can't expect console library out of handheld target marketted at kids, the same thing you can't expect a psp to suddenly have imagine or zelda on it

I believe that no consoles are dead, tehy were made for gaming, that would be redundant.

mr domination must you mention the word IMAGINE!
the game imagine simply kick ass in terms of sales
some of the games from the series simply sold more than a million copies

when there is need, there will be supply

that's a very scary but true business principle, need= supply sooner or later,
there's an imagine game on the psp?, *rub eyes, with bleach*
what elixir says is what ubisoft official will say.....
i am still waiting for every single rpg on psp

Well, since Kingdom Hearts 358-2 Days refuses to work, even when patched, I guess I'll just have to go over to VISCO and get it. But, heck no DS gaming is going strong.

VISCO, is a used gaming store here in Japan.

off topic:
whats the flash cart that you are using? ak2?
AKAIO is your best friend then

use the search function
look for AKAIO 1.4.1 repack
it works with KH

It's all purely opinion. I think they're are good games coming out in the next while. There's Golden Sun, Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story, Zelda: Spirit Tracks and i could name more but i don't want to lol. But no I don't think DS gaming is dead.

You'd have to wait until Nintendo releases their next handheld system, then wait another year or so before asking this question. This was how it was for the GBA at least.

I think the final answer for this is: No, DS and DSi Gaming is most certainly not dead.

DS gaming dead? No not really, I guess you don't pay much attention to the news or whatever. It is quiter this year than last though.

There is less to look forward to this and next year compared to before, last year was insane! Sadly most people didn't/couldn't buy those games so publishers think its a bad to flood the market with a ton of games at the same time. It seems to be the same across all consoles with exception to the Wii which has seen more quality releases this year.

You also get companies who can't really compete against the bigger titles, last year those companies thought the risk would pay off and it didn't so they lost a shitload of money and now most concentrate on the "Imagine" rip offs. That is one of the downsides to piracy..damn I wish it wasn't true.

Nope. not at all...Nintendo have captured such a huge share of the market with the ds....i mean they produce games that anywhere from a 10 year old up to a 50 year old can enjoy. Easily the best handheld ever made.

I wish these threads would just get deleted.
Heaven forbid we'd actually discuss something on the forum!

Sure we've had similar threads but not everyone was around for them, if you don't them, ignore them. That is what I've learnt to do.

Definitely not dead! Just like the Wii there are plenty of great little-known titles to look forward to
