I'm wondering because I've heard form a few places already that 3DS games will be playable on the DS but just without all the new enhancements like the 3D effects. Does anyone know if it's true or just too early to tell? Also If I'm wrong will there be a total new card for 3DS and it'l backwards compatible to the DS?

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that proper 3DS games won't be usable on the DS.
They might make some hybrid DS games that have extra features that work on 3DS same as they have done with the DSi, but for the most part I think 3DS games will only work on a 3DS.

But it'll be backwards compatible right? I'm really looking forward to that analog stick, I hate the D-pad :L

I'm not saying that, I'm saying that it won't work AS ANALOG.
"meaning characters won't walk when you tilt it a bit and run when you tilt it a lot"
Meaning it won't give you any finer control because the code to control that isn't there in the first place.

Also about the sig, didn't know it was from maple story.

Oh okay, and I can't believe you didn't know, they're all the skill things but changed a bit haha

yeah, the 3ds cards have the stupid knob at the end so it can't be played
on a regular ds

The shape of the cart is not what is stopping you playing 3DS games on your DS. PS3 discs are the same share as PS2 discs, doesn't mean you can play Killzone on your PS2.

Go to the few places you heard that from and tell them they're stupid. Then tell them again because they'll probably be so stupid they didn't understand you the first time.

I honestly looked at the date of the OP expecting it to be from last june.

HAHAHAH Ye sit does

reason:

A PS2 Version if Killzone was made for PS2 I should no i own it!.lol

And I suppose you can play the PS3 version on your PS2 as well? Without the extra "features" I mean, like the better graphics?

The hinge on the cart is specifically designed to prevent people from inserting a 3DS cartridge into a DS.

Okay, I'm going to say this very plainly.

No.

The 3DS is a totally brand new system. Does the GBA play DS games? No. Does the Gamecube play Wii games? No. The 3DS has all new hardware, that just barely allows backwards compatibility with older DS games. The hardware is greatly improved, and the original DS just can't complete. The very most you'll get in this is perhaps a few late generation DS games supporting a bit of 3D when used with a 3DS (But not its improved graphics).
