Awesome. It's out. Gonna play this after I finish all my other platformers.

Schweet! I wasn't a DB (or DBZ) fan before playing this game, but I think I'm quickly becoming one. Though I, of course, couldn't understand the dialogue in the Japanese version, the characters were very expressive and funny.

Anyone know if this version has been censored at all? I know there were some things in the Japanese version that were pretty risque.

I can't answer this myself since I have yet to play either... But you got me curious now

The game is GREAT so far. It's been quite a long time since the last game that got me interested.

Awesomely random comment!

What the heck happened to the cool opening theme? I was humming it before turning this U.S. version on for the first time, but then got surprised by some generic-sounding MIDI theme.

Nonetheless, it's really cool to be able to follow the dialogue. I haven't really been into comics much in the last 10-15 years, but this game plays out a lot like a comic-book story, and I'm really enjoying it. Very surprised they left pretty much everything intact. I love the art style -- some of the best I've seen on DS (along with Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker).

I like the graphics and the cutscenes, but the gameplay really didn't make my day. The touch-screen accuracy isn't as good as PH (maybe it's a tad harsh comparing those two, but hey - they're similar in many ways), and combat doesn't feel polished. What really bugs me though is the frame rate issues. When Bulma runs away on her own or a couple of enemies attack you, the FPS drops down to 1-10-something frames per second. Sort of unplayable at times if you're spoiled with playing other 3DDS games with a solid frame rate (e.g. PH, NGDS etc).

edit: added some thoughts

You can always swap the sound files between the English and Japanese releases aka undub it.
Can I have a link on how to do that please?
I looked around gbatemp but didn't find any tutorial. Thanks!

Gave this a go and I can't say it's particularly grabbed me - the controls seem clunky and the gameplay not particularly engaging. I know absolutely nowt about Dragon Ball, so maybe I'd find it more entertaining if I was a fan. I've got to say though, the graphics they've got the DS kicking out are superb, especially the dragon type creatures which look awesome. Think the last time I was this impressed with DS graphics was when I first booted up Mario 3 on 3.

Does it really slow down/lag sometimes when there are more than one or two enemies? Or is my flash-card just to slow (4GB Sandisk calss 4 in M3 with Sakura Firmware)? If it's the SD I really need to get a faster one, I like the game.

OT: Bangai-O really slows down a lot, doesn't it?
