Try writing your five differently.

You have to write 5 starting with the vertical line, then straight into the arc, then last of all the horizontal line on the top.

And which type of 5 is that? That's how I make mine, but it's given me problems in handwriting recognition programs before.

Well I was taught to write it in one movement, starting at the top right. Works fine for brain age but for this and the cheapo sudoku thing it always comes out as an 8.

1061 Platinum Sudoku + Kakuro Puzzles
I don't think can be beat...reason is the Ubisoft mainly developed this for cell phones and polished it really well. If the cell phone hand writing recognition and making an interface had to be intuitive. Then when they ported it to the DS they really gave it even more love. I used to play the Japanese Kakuro title and still think it's great but the 1061 is awesome in everyway for Kakuro.

Does this have Sudoku puzzles in it aswell?

Looks like this is the Euro version of Sudokuro but without the Sudoku puzzles.

Interface is almost identical

It does looks that way. Probably identical coder who makes two versions, one for each side of the pond, and sell it to two suckers (distribution companies), one in the US , another in Europe.

Sudokuro has Sudoku and Kakuro and features an Asian/Japanese theme.

Kakuromaniacs seems to be Kakuro only, it features an Egyptian and some other themes that I didn't bother to check out.

IGN rates Sudokuro at 2/10. This should rate 1/10 (or lower) since it doesn't have Sudoku.


IMHO, One of the worst DS game this month , this year Ever. Too bad, the cover make the front page, it doesn't deserve it.


BTW, '5' is written in two strokes to be recognized by the OCR engine with the top horizontal line first.



For now, I will stick to Platinum Sudoku for my Kakuro fix. Still waiting for the Hudson-developed compilation (of Japanese games) Brain buster which seems to be delayed...

...why release a Kakuro only game? I did find it odd, however, that Platinum Sudoku made no mention of Kakuro in the title.

Last week one of our members had a fatal car accident
