It does looks that way. Probably identical coder who makes two versions, one for each side of the pond, and sell it to two suckers (distribution companies), one in the US , another in Europe.
Sudokuro has Sudoku and Kakuro and features an Asian/Japanese theme.
Kakuromaniacs seems to be Kakuro only, it features an Egyptian and some other themes that I didn't bother to check out.
IGN rates Sudokuro at 2/10. This should rate 1/10 (or lower) since it doesn't have Sudoku.
IMHO, One of the worst DS game this month , this year Ever. Too bad, the cover make the front page, it doesn't deserve it.
BTW, '5' is written in two strokes to be recognized by the OCR engine with the top horizontal line first.
For now, I will stick to Platinum Sudoku for my Kakuro fix. Still waiting for the Hudson-developed compilation (of Japanese games) Brain buster which seems to be delayed...
