2nd, has anyone noticed how a few of these characters look a lot like people of DBZ ?
Almost every hair style on the Character creation bit is a DBZ's hairstyle.

And seen a few characters that more than resemble a few of the DBZ characters, heck I could probably name my character Goku because of the astounding look-a-like.

Bought some New items in a shop and it even looks something like a Saiyan outfit lol

Anyone else noticed this or other similar stuff ?

Dont forget he did all the stuff for Chrono trigger/Chrono Cross too.

Holy Crap DQ 3 is the entire Dragonball Cast lol
I never knew that, I really only know Games and such by stuff like Square Enix, THQ and stuff not by actual names lol.

I'm only playing it cause a Friend recommended, and gotta say I like it so far

Akira Toriyama (the guy that created the DB series) is the character designer. He is a LEGEND!

Are you serious? Every singe one of his characters looks exactly the same in the face. The only things that are different is the hair and head sizes lol
I like the art but seriously learn some variety.

lol, I just started DQ IX and I was totally wondering the same thing. I made my chracter look and called him Goku. XD

lol, it's an anime art style. frankly, i don't think japanese don't care, and the japs are really his primary market. and, think about it, in the US, the guys with superpowers basically wear their unmentionables outside their pants
rolleyes.gif
. compared to that, i'll take monotonous facial structure, hahaha

Wait are you saying there is something wrong with wearing my junk outside my pants?

There are an infinite amount of Anime and Manga art styles. Toriyama's art is actually really bad and generic, though. He's right, almost every character has the exact same face. Compare his art to someone else's, like Kentaro Miura, Akamatsu Ken or Hirohiko Araki and you can really see just how plain Toriyama's art is.

dude, you do know how old dragon ball is, right? i didn't say it is THE anime art style, it's just AN anime art style. it's obvious they used his art as a template, but that's not toriyama's design's fault (i mean, after 9 games, people really will get kinda tired of it). thing is, he's still the main guy who works on the character models, so blame the guys who made DQ9 and kept using it... if you dare.

why does nobody wanna stick it up miyamoto's *** even if mario is the same fat italian plumber?

-just askin

Toriyama's style is repetitive - pretty repetitive-, but for a game like DQ is fine. They don't take anything too serious and that's the key of the success of the series, simple but charming.
