Homebrew downsides of updating A9LH?

Hi all! a few weeks ago i got my first new3DS and followed the Plaitec guide and got AL9H+CFW up and running and everything is great. Today a patch for super smash bros 3ds came out, and I cant update the game because it says it requires a system update to update the game. So unless I update i can't play that game online. thinking about updating.
Is there any current or future downsides or problems I might have by updating to 11.0? (i know you cant downgrade anymore from 11, but i already did that whole downgrade/otp/A9LH stuff already)

use the latest nightly build of Luma3DS

If you already have Luma3DS Updater then use it to update to the latest nightly build.

so if i do that and then update to 11.0 ill be fine?

As far as I know, you can downgrade Patched Sysnand from 11.0. you need to download the NTR firmware.bin file and move it into the /luma/ folder on your SD card, it should be able to downgrade to 2.1-10.7 after doing this.

You can update your console after having A9LH just fine. If for some reason you want to go back, you can always just restore one of the backups you made.

just went into luma updater, i only see options to install normal version, and latest hourly. but no "nightly"
 
i updated to the latest nightly and it just stays black the screen and never starts

Getting a black screen when launching Smash Bros is perhaps because you're using a boot manager and didn't change your Luma3DS payload path.

If you're using a boot manager (BootCtr9, CtrBootManager9, ARM9Select, etc.) to load Luma3DS, you won't be able to play GBA/DSiWare games, or certain games that need more RAM on the device (such as Super Smash Bros).
