Hacking Downgrading ?

I have a 3DS XL version 10.3 28 (U)
my friend accidently updated my 3DS , it was 9.2 and I had my gateway working just fine
I have my backup on my pc , how can I downgrade ?
I have access to both hombrew channel and sky3ds if neccessery

Solder 4 points of the board with microSD-SD adapter(it is on the wiki).
Then connect the SD card adapter with computer and turn on the 3DS.
Alert for formatting drive will show up. Ignore it and flash the old backup to the new drive with win32imager.

after getting it back to 9.2 can I get rid of the cables I soldered ?

Find a random broken piece of electronics like a toy car and practice soldering desoldering wires and see if the car still works after putting everything back together and make sure you have a fine tip so you don't splash solder everywhere or burn the board by leaving it for too long. Also are you sure you have a NAND.bin from the gateway menu? Also kick your friend in the nuts for me.

Yes. If you don't know what you are doing, there is some risk that you burn the board especially the NAND (very close to the soldering points).
But old 3DS XL is the easiest to hardmod among the 3DS family.
And after you restore the backup, you can desolder it.
But I recommend to desolder only the SD adapter side for the future hardmod but you should tape the wire to prevent short circuit.

You can find a plenty of videos on youtube. Search "3DS XL hardmod"
And yes, I did it by myself a while ago. It was a piece of cake actually.

That 2-pin connector only receives power lines.

I think you just answered that question yourself. It's a charge port.
