Gonna try to test every day a few games.
got over 3000+ old dos games around for my old 486 DX66, that's used by the kids to play dos games (not much wrong the can do with dos

)

If anybody is willing to make a wii channel forwarder for this, i would be very happy

Thx

Downloaded both R40 and R42 on WiiBrew (both from Dykam). When I load them from Homebrew Channel, they both EXIT out immediately (Black screens with 3 lines -- I recall seeing "SDL_Quit Returning"). However another version I downloaded from here, "R38" worked fine. Is anyone else able to get R42 to work, if so, can a link be posted?

Started to test Sierra Adventure games tonight. Here is what I have found so far, have quite a few more too do. The games that require a mouse to point and click seem to run a little slow on loading but other then that runs fine, might be able to tweak a config file to make them work faster.

All working

Black Cauldron
Conquest Of Camelot
Conquest Of The Longbow
The Castle Of Dr Brain
The Island Of Dr Brain
Eco Quest I - The Search For Cetus
Eco Quest II - Lost Secrets Of The Rainforest
Freddy Pharkas
Gabriel Knight
Goldrush
Codename ICEMAN

Will be checking more in the next couple of nights, including Police Quest Series, Kings Quest Series, Space Quest Series and Leisure Suit Larry Series plus more.

Why not use SCUMM for most of those Sierra games? I do know some of those play perfectly on the Wii.

Haven't really looked into SCUMM that much, I will have to take a look at it. But this is a topic on DOSBox and just helping for the compatibility listings for it.

Most of the other games that I tried worked with the exception of one.

Working

Kings Quest 1
Kings Quest 2
Kings Quest 3
Kings Quest 4
Kings Quest 5
Kings Quest 6
Laura Bow 1 - The Colonels Bequest
Laura Bow 2 - The Dagger Of Amon Ra
Leisure Suit Larry 1
Leisure Suit Larry 2
Leisure Suit Larry 3
Leisure Suit Larry 5
Leisure Suit Larry 6
Manhunter New York
Manhunter San Fransisco
Police Quest 1
Police Quest 2
Police Quest 3
Quest For Glory 1
Quest For Glory 2
Quest For Glory 3
Quest For Glory 4
Space Quest 1
Space Quest 2
Space Quest 3
Space Quest 4
Space Quest 5
Adventures Of Willy Beamish

Not working

Police Quest 4 - Frozen at black screen with sound (might need config tweak)

None of these games were tested extensively, but all load and goesz into a playable game with movement.

Hahah, Leisure Suit Larry on the Wii.... that's like a gaming oxymoron.

Anyone who hasn't should really play the LSL series... especially LSL1 and LSL3.. great games.

Loderunner - The Legend Returns (1994 - Sierra)
- Working, but you can't play, cause you can only run left (making holes left and right works)

Check your settings.. Sounds like you have the mouse enabled. This happened to me on the DosBox on the PC. One other thing, what settings are you using to get it to run that far on the Wii? I only get a blank screen. I can hear the blue guy walk across the screen and say "sierra", but nothing appears on-screen.

I used settings found here a few pages back:
(I do try to change some stuff when a game does not work, but mostly this is used.)

QUOTE(Da_GPer @ May 10 2009, 10:53 AM)
I got Commander Keen 1-6 working perfectly, with just a little bit of stutter every once a while and a tad bit slow load time and best of all, no freezing! Heres my DOSBox.conf. I copied my PC one and did some editing to it.

[sdl]
# fullscreen -- Start dosbox directly in fullscreen.
# fulldouble -- Use double buffering in fullscreen.
# fullfixed -- Don't resize the screen when in fullscreen.
# fullresolution -- What resolution to use for fullscreen, use together with fullfixed.

# autolock -- Mouse will automatically lock, if you click on the screen.
# sensitiviy -- Mouse sensitivity.
# waitonerror -- Wait before closing the console if dosbox has an error.
# priority -- Priority levels for dosbox: lower, normal, higher, highest.

did you play a level ?

Cause, it crashes everytime when i selected the level and it starts loading.

Also on a sidenote:
There are often many rips/game releases, that are different.
It would be nice to say the version of the the game you try.
(example: Jazz jack rabbit / jazz jack rabbit v1.1 / Jazz Jack rabbit collection)
