Hardware dos 3.3 stop modchips?

if i got the 3.3 update (official) would it stop me from using a modchip? because i want to get a modchip (preforably wiikey2) but if i update will that stop wiikey from working?

Nintendo updates cant stop updates due to there updates being unable to do anything to the DVD Drive.

mod chips work just fine on 3.3 but fake signed game need to be loaded with Gecko OS
