I don't know how to explain my story... but I will try my best.
My ex's brother soft-mod our Wii back in 2009.
My ex was the one that would download games onto an external hard drive.
I remembered flipping through all the game covers by pressing <- or -> button.
Then we broke up, he gave me the Wii set but took the hard drive and the SD card.
Now I don't know what to do with my Wii now.
It is able to read GC games... I tried some.. but I just didn't have the GC controller yet (going to get one tomorrow).
I can see CFG USB Loader in one channel and a Homebrew channel.
Usually the USB loader is the one that I would click into.
But in this case.... it won't load any games that I tried to download myself (I don't even know if they are the right format).
When I clicked on the Homebrew channel, it loaded... but it looks like a setting screen.
On the top right corner, it says ios61.
I've read a lot of threads on this forum, people mentioned ios58 is better.
But I don't know how to change it.
People also mentioned about updating USB Loader.... but I don't know how.
I already formatted my SD card to non FAT32 but it still won't read my games...
I already used an older controller, instead of the new one that won't sync... but it won't work...
WHAT DID I DO WRONG? WHAT AM I MISSING HERE? T_________T
So to summarize...
1. Can someone please give me a detailed walk-through on this? (In words that a dummy like me can understand too?)
2. What should I check first? Homebrew version? How to update? Do I need to reinstall it? How?
3. USB Loader, how to update? how to install it? how to use it?
4. If I already see both "CFG USB Loader" and "Homebrew channel", does that mean all I have to do it update them?
5. How do I download games? In what format? (.dat? .dol?) Where should I put them?
I've tried all the things that I can try.... I am so confused with all the technical terms...
