I also would love a control scheme hack. Current controls hurt my wrists and are too dissimilar to the original snes controls.

Thankfully I can map my own controls if I emulate it on the PC, but it has a lot of sound issues. So either play comfortably with bad sound, or play uncomfortably with good sound.

Hopefully either a hack is made or the sound gets fixed on Dolphin.

I played the first world with the wiimote nes-style and I would also rather play it on the CC, you can't time the rolling very good with shaking and there are many places where you have to do the roll+jump to get something.

I don't know why but after playing some time (1st world) my right fingers started to hurt and I had to stop playing

... so good luck to those who are working on a hack many are looking forward to it!

and to those who like the shaking well keep playing instead of telling others how to play a game

The people complaining about people complaining about lack of control options...

On one hand you have people who say "The game is good but it would be nice if classic controller support was added"

On the other hand you have people saying "Shut up, its perfect the way it is, and I have 10 excuses lined up to show you why your wrong about the way you like to play your games!!!!"

Just pointing out the painfully obvious here, but the people who would like classic control support added are not saying take away the current control scheme... So if you like it the way it is fine go play it and stop hanging out in a thread that is asking for a way to ADD something in, you add nothing to the discussion by saying its fine the way it is thats NOT what this thread is about.

The Wii is one of the most flexible systems ever made and supports so many play styles its crazy, its crazy to expect that people would want to take advantage of that with some of the best software ever made.

finally...some reason in here...thanks for being much more eloquent than me...he just put it out there...hope there is someone listening...

1) It is not a constant roll when you don't have Diddy Kong.

2) This is important to know because you do not start with Diddy when doing time trials.

3) If you want to 100% a level, you must get a gold medal in time trial.

4) If you mess up even one little time, you are probably going to miss the gold time.

Anyone saying the controls are fine must not have attempted any time trials. They are 1000x more frustrating than they need to be because of the motion controls.

Donkey Kong Country, having originally been a game made by Rare, was a collect-a-thon. Same goes for DKCR. If you're not trying to 100% this game, then you're missing out on what made the DKC games so great.

Pixma, I came onto the forum today to request exactly the same thing that you are. I would even help chip in for a patch. Don't listen to the naysayers...they really don't know what DKC is all about.

I wish the game offered more control options--namely, options that don't involve shaking the controller around--but overall this is a really well put-together and fantastic-looking platformer that will really challenge your ability to play hard games the way you used to way back when.

So im not the only bitch out there (taken from game summary by GiantBomb on Metacritic)

If there is someone capable of doing a hack please let us know and cash in the money...i get supporters by the minute...some willing to help me pay...please answer the call

peace out, pixma

Huh, so now both sides are saying that the other is playing the game wrong. Incredible.

You managed to take a statement, that you even quoted, and put in words that aren't there. Incredible.

Okay, let's take more of your post then.

Would you kindly explain how you're not telling people "you're playing the game wrong"? Aren't you saying "if you knew what DKC is all about, you'd hate the motion controls"? Doesn't that translate to "if you played the game the way i do (the right way), you'd hate the motion controls"?

It sounds like what you're *actually* disputing is whether or not the people who are not trying to 100% this game are, as you say, "playing the game right."

It's not a matter of playing the game right. It's a matter of whether or not a person is really seeing everything the game has to offer by not attempting to succeed in all of it's challenges.

Which they're not. It's not really disputable.

But aren't you saying that 'seeing everything the game has to offer' is the right thing to do? Did you not say it is the very reason DKC is so great? Wouldn't it, therefore, be bad for someone to not see what the game is all about? It seems natural to say that it is wrong to play a game and miss out on the good parts.

You also said that "Anyone saying the controls are fine must not have attempted any time trials." In order to 100% the game, one must complete the time trials. Therefore, in order to see what makes DKC great, one must hate the motion controls.

In short, you said that people who like the motion controls are doing it wrong.

Is there any hack / cheat that you can change the control? I don't understand it either. Nintendo in the past, had various combinations of controls, (e.g. in Mario Kart or Smash Bros Brawl) and now Retro force us to have motion controls for a platform game

i hope people will get tired of trolling in this thread...i would love to here from someone that has acutual skills to change the controls many peopöe hate...i think it needs to be done...if you like the current controls: Fine with me...but don't spam my thread about how games are playied properly...Obviously everybody plays differently and thats great: THIS THREAD IS DEDICATED TO CREATING ALTERNATIVE CONTROLS FOR PEOPLE WHO DISLIKE MOTION GAMING IN RETRO GAMES!!!!

So please: Leave this thread to the pros that can acutally do something about our problem...Thanks alot

I'll try mapping it to a classic controller later today and post my results. I made a few adjustments for my GC controller. Also the trolling is quite annoying just reading it, I loved played the DKC series with my mother when I was little and she has a really hard time adjusting to the new controls and even suggested that classic controller would have been better lol. Sorry haters, but everyone deserves to play the game how they want to play it. I'm surprised with all the complaints and reviews that they don't just release a patch to add these things in.

It's practically impossible for Nintendo to patch a game with the Wii system architecture.

if your willing to split with 500 bucks you'll probably get more chance of someone hard modding a wiimote to do what you want.

I think the controls are fine... but if someone can write hacks for NSMB wii so that the B button makes u float or the + button transforms you... why can't someone write a hack for DKCR to use the B button instead of (or in addition to) wagging the wiimote? It's not like they have to add an entirely new function like floating or transforming... so I would think it would be easier to do than what has already been done for NSMB Wii.

Granted I don't know the first thing about writing hacks for games, so I wouldn't be too surprised if writing control hacks for DKCR is more complex than it seems.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
