Homebrew Dolphin Multiplayer question?

Hey, I have Dolphin on a Macbook and recently used the AirDrop feature to share the emulator and some games with friends from school. I got a few people playing gamecube games on their laptops, but is there a way to play multiplayer on different devices? I know there's a Lan feature on games like MKDD, but I want to know if I can emulate the local experience but on different devices (And for games that I don't think support Lan Play like Melee, or Nba Street).
